As Muskogee Metro Baptist Collegiate Ministries (BCM) director, Rowdy Morris serves multiple campuses. The Muskogee BCM is made up of Northeastern State University Muskogee, Bacone College and Connors State College Muskogee and Warner. Moving from campus to campus, Morris stays busy teaching students different methods of sharing Christ, in the classroom and on the field.

Before moving to the Muskogee position, Morris served at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami for one year. He had retired from Walmart Stores Inc. and began working with single adults and college students at Grove, First.

Morris said he fought God’s call on his life for 19 years before He finally got his attention.

“I had worked for Wall-Mart since I graduated from college and was a store director for 16 years,” Morris explained. “But God called me to work with singles and college students.”

A native of Huntsville, Ark., he accepted Christ at a children’s camp in Siloam Springs, Ark.

He attended North Arkansas Community College, University of Arkansas and Southwestern Seminary. Morris completed his seminary education through the seminary extension program on the campus of Oklahoma Baptist University.

“I chose the extension because I can go ahead and work with college students and be in the field while getting my education,” Morris said.

Rowdy said he believes in missions, and has served abroad on missions in China, Mexico, Canada, England, Ireland and Serbia. Stateside he has participated in mission trips to Chicago, Joplin, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans and Denver.

Because of the generous giving of Oklahoma Baptists through the Cooperative Program, an amazing array of ministries are supported. This unified giving encourages fellowship with other believers all over the world. Collectively, Oklahoma Baptists are advancing the Gospel together.
