What do you believe? In whom do you believe? How does your beliefs affect your actions?

These questions and more will be answered at the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO) Women’s Retreat April 22-23 at Falls Creek Baptist Conference Center near Davis. Popular authors and speakers Liz Curtis Higgs and Lisa Harper will be featured in the general sessions.

In addition, women will have the opportunity to dine in the new Mathena Event Center which is located by the Tabernacle.

“Eliminating the need to eat outside will be a blessing to our women and will give them a chance to sit and relax in a climate-controlled atmosphere,” said Kelly King, BGCO women’s specialist.

Worship will be led by Doug Matlock, education and outreach pastor at Chickasha, First. Illusionist Drew Worsham will also be a special guest during general sessions and after the Friday evening general session.

Women have the opportunity to attend three “super” seminars designed to be more in-depth Bible study. Leaders include Marian Jordan, Mary Jo Sharp, Wynter Pitts, Sheila West, Darla Baerg, Tammie Head, Lori McDaniel, Kimberly Sowell and Karen Swallow Prior.

“These seminars are taught by nationally-known authors and speakers who are leaders in their respective fields,” said King. “From apologetics to tweens, there is something for all women.”

Other activities for the weekend include prayer walking and several recreation opportunities, including rock climbing, high rope elements, the annual 5K run, zipline and fishing.

One of the highlights each year is the ministry project—an offering received on Friday evening of the retreat. This year, the offering will benefit Baptist Global Response and their efforts to provide needs for Syrian refugees.

“Women want to know how they can tangibly make a difference, and this offering gives us the opportunity to partner with personnel who are focused on sharing the Gospel. It’s always exciting to see how women respond to the need presented,” King said.

The early registration deadline for the retreat is March 24 with a price of $75 per person. A special price of $35 is offered to women ages 13-18 who attend with their mother or guardian. After March 24, the price increases to $85 for all ages. The final day for registration is April 4. For more information and online registration, visit www.bgcowomen.org. Women are also encouraged to follow the BGCO Women Facebook page for up-to-the date information.
