In response to the Oklahoma State Supreme Court’s ruling to remove a 10 Commandments monument at the Oklahoma State Capitol grounds, Dr. Anthony L. Jordan, Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO) Executive Director-Treasurer said the following:

“The 10 Commandments are foundational to our laws and legal system in America. Look at the United States Supreme Court building and you see a depiction of Moses holding the 10 Commandments. We recognize that these Commandments are important legally, historically, and spiritually, not only to Christians, but a vast majority of faith groups well. So we strongly favor the public display of the 10 Commandments in Oklahoma and across this great land.”
