BGCO hosting Literacy Outreach workshop, Sept. 11-12

If your church is beginning a Literacy Outreach ministry or it if already has one and needs to equip more volunteers or update its existing volunteers in the latest methods, “There is an opportunity for you and your church to be equipped in this vital outreach, Sept. 11-12. If you are interested in a way to share the Gospel that is ministry-based, you need to launch a Literacy Outreach ministry,” said Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma personal evangelism specialist Mike Napier.

The workshop will meet at the Baptist Building, 3800 N. May Avenue, Oklahoma City. The focus will be equipping in English Language Learners, Tutoring Children and Youth and Adult Reading and Writing. The registration deadline is Sept. 3. The cost for the workshop is $35, which includes the equipping, workbook, snacks, dinner Friday and lunch Saturday. There is an additional $10 cost for taking Adult Reading and Writing as it requires a second manual.

Check in will begin at 2:45 p.m. on Sept. 11. The workshop will run from 3-8:30 p.m., Sept. 11, and 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Sept. 12. To register for this workshop for more information call 405/942-3000, ext. 4313.
