The Baptist Village Communities Board of Directors has named Ricky Coleman as the organization’s next president. Coleman will succeed Dr. Bill Pierce, who will retire effective December 31, 2026, following 36 years of leadership and service to Baptist Village Communities (BVC).
The appointment follows a nationwide search conducted by a committee appointed by the Board of Directors. The search committee considered more than 25 candidates from across the United States.
“After careful consideration, extensive conversations and prayer, the committee and Board believe Ricky is the right leader to guide Baptist Village Communities into its next chapter,” said Mark Gandy, chair of the search committee and member of the Baptist Village Communities Board of Directors. “His commitment to serving older adults, compassion for residents and team members, and extensive healthcare leadership experience reflect the mission and values of BVC.”
Coleman has served as campus director of Baptist Village of Enid since August 2023, overseeing the daily operations of the 276-residence life plan community and leading approximately 135 team members across independent living, enhanced living, assisted living, long-term care and skilled nursing. His responsibilities include financial and operational management, regulatory compliance, risk management, occupancy growth and campus improvement projects.
Coleman brings more than 20 years of experience in senior living, long-term care and healthcare administration. Before joining BVC, he held executive and administrative leadership positions, including chief operating officer of Memorial Hospital and Physicians Group and long-term care administrator for multiple healthcare organizations. He began his aging-services career at the Lawton/Fort Sill Veterans Center, first serving as director of therapeutic recreation before advancing into administrative leadership at the 200-bed long-term care community for wartime veterans.
Coleman is an Oklahoma-licensed long-term care administrator. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Cameron University and an associate degree from Western Oklahoma State College and completed the Administrator University program through the Oklahoma State Board of Examiners for Long-Term Care Administrators.
“I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve as president of Baptist Village Communities,” Coleman said. “This organization has a long history of serving older adults and their families. I am grateful for the foundation Dr. Pierce has built, and I look forward to working alongside our team members, residents and partners as we continue advancing our mission of Serving God, Serving You, Serving Together.”
Throughout his career, Coleman has emphasized people-centered leadership, collaboration and mentoring, with a focus on building strong teams and working across departments to accomplish shared organizational goals.
Ricky’s love for the Lord, deep roots in Oklahoma Baptist life and extensive experience in senior housing and services make him an outstanding choice to build on Bill Pierce’s 36 years of leadership and guide BVC into a bright future of service and advancing the gospel,” said Todd Fisher, member of the Baptist Village Communities Board of Directors and executive director of Oklahoma Baptists.
Pierce has served as president of Baptist Village Communities since 1990. During his tenure, the organization expanded its senior living and home care services while strengthening its statewide commitment to serving older adults, their families and Oklahoma churches.
“Dr. Pierce has devoted his career to enhancing the lives of older adults and advancing the mission of Baptist Village Communities,” said Matt Trentham, chair of the Baptist Village Communities Board of Directors. “We are grateful for the strong foundation he has built and confident Ricky will lead BVC forward with the same commitment to mission, service and excellence.”
Coleman will work closely with Pierce and the BVC leadership team throughout the transition before assuming the role of president following Pierce’s retirement.
