More than 60 International Mission Board missionary alumni gathered at the offices of Oklahoma Baptists state convention in downtown Oklahoma City on Aug. 4 for a special luncheon and fellowship event.

Oklahoma Baptists missionary alumni–from Europe to Africa to Asia to South America and all points around the world—spent time in fellowship, prayer and connecting. Some in the gathering had served more than 35 years on the mission field.

Todd Fisher, Oklahoma Baptists executive director-treasurer, welcomed the gathering of missionaries and prayed with the gathering. “What a joy to host over 60 retired and former IMB missionaries and journeyman personnel for lunch at the building today. It’s a privilige to honor these men and women, many of whom have given their entire careers serving on the international mission field, and to help them stay engaged with Oklahoma Baptists and one another,” Fisher said.

Others on the program included Marlo Salamy with the IMB and Sandy Wisdom-Martin of the WMU National. Wisdom-Martin emphasized the importance of missions work and missions education.

“I’m so grateful for National WMU executive director Sandy Wisdom-Martin, who is in Oklahoma for collegiate week at Falls Creek, spoke to group today,” added Fisher.

Following the IMB Alumni Fellowship Luncheon, the missionaries toured of Oklahoma Baptists new offices.
