Hope Pregnancy Center, South OKC, Hosts 3rd Annual Fundraising Banquet

(OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA.)— Hope Pregnancy Center (HPC), South OKC, hosts its 3rd Annual Fundraising Banquet on Thursday, October 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Norman.

“The Lord has used the banquet to bless our center with a community of families from many churches in our area who give generously through the banquet,” said Carie White, Director of HPC, South OKC.

The banquet consists of dinner and a guest speaker, Dr. Douglas Melton. He is the pastor of Southern Hills Baptist Church. The theme of the event is Building a Wall of Hope.

The purpose of this banquet is to highlight the ministry in hopes that others will partner with HPC to build a wall of hope in the Oklahoma City community to protect life.

“My desire is that abortion on demand will decrease when young men and women come to HPC before they make a decision about pregnancy,” White said. “Our banquet will be an exciting evening when the room will be filled with people who understand the sanctity of human life and the power of Christ to change lives.”

Money raised at the banquet will go toward supporting the center’s annual budget for providing services to our clients. The goal of HPC is to have more than 400 people in attendance.

HPC is a ministry of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC). The mission of OBHC is to help children become capable, caring Christian adults by sharing Christ’s love and providing hope and homes for children.

Baptist Homes for Girls Hosts 14th Annual Style Show

(OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLA.)— Baptist Homes for Girls (BHG) hosts a Back-to-School Style Show & Brunch on Saturday, October 4 at 9 a.m. at the Ardmore Convention Center.

“As an alumnus of BHG, the Style Show has a special place in my heart,” said Katy Pickens, BHG Public Relations Coordinator. “It brings back fond memories of growing up at BHG and all of the things that I was taught while living there.”

On the morning of the Style Show, girls who live at BHG in Madill will meet with a hair stylist to make them look their best for the special event. Each girl will model a back-to-school outfit and a church outfit.

A silent auction will take place at 9 a.m. The Style Show & Brunch begins at 10 a.m. The event is open to the public. Guests must purchase tickets prior to the Style Show.

Funds raised at the Style Show will go toward clothing for the year and other basic needs for girls who live at BHG.

“The Style Show simply would not be possible without all the friends and volunteers that make it happen,” Pickens said. “From ladies who volunteer and take the girls shopping, to businesses who sponsor tables, to the men who help people park cars, to the women who volunteer to do the girls hair and makeup, we just couldn’t do it without their help.”

BHG is a ministry of Oklahoma Baptist Homes for Children (OBHC). The mission of OBHC is to help children become capable, caring Christian adults by sharing Christ’s love and providing hope and homes for children.
