Stephen Rummage, president of the 2024 Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) Pastors’ Conference, announced the theme and officers for next year’s event, June 9-10 in Indianapolis.

The theme for the conference will be “Faithful: Pursuing Your Mission.” The key verse for the theme is Rev. 17:14, “For He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with Him are called and chosen and faithful.”

Rummage, who serves as pastor of Oklahoma City, Quail Springs, also announced officers for the conference.

Erik D. Cummings, lead pastor of Miami, Fla., New Life of Carol City, will serve as vice president, and Ray Anderson, who is minister of missions and evangelism at Quail Springs, will be treasurer.

“Pastor Erik Cummings is a wonderful preacher and pastor who became a good friend during our time together in Florida,” Rummage said. “He’s faithful to the Word of God, passionate and prophetic in his delivery, and he always speaks from a warm and humble spirit. I look forward to working and praying with Erik to bless, strengthen and encourage pastors and everyone else who comes to our gathering in Indianapolis.”

Cummings currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention and served as the president of the Florida Baptist Convention from 2018-2021.

“I am humbled to serve alongside Dr. Stephen Rummage, one of the premiere voices in Gospel preaching,” Cummings said. “He continues to be instrumental in preparing the next generation of well-equipped ministers for effective Gospel proclamation. It is my prayer that we will be an encouragement to all pastors at the 2024 SBC Pastor’s Conference.”

Ray Anderson

Anderson has been at Quail Springs since 2012. He previously served with the International Mission Board (IMB) in Central Asia.

“One of the greatest joys of my life in the last several years is to serve alongside Ray Anderson at Quail Springs,” Rummage said. “He brings to the table an incredible heart for evangelism as well as organizational skills that are off the charts. Plus, his experience as an IMB missionary gives him a deep and expansive perspective on how God is working through Southern Baptists to bring the nations to Christ. I’m thrilled that he agreed to serve as the treasurer for our 2024 SBC Pastors’ Conference.”

The 2024 SBC Pastors’ Conference promises to be an event that encourages pastors from across the Southern Baptist Convention by equipping them with resources and providing fellowship among peers in ministry leadership roles.
