DEL CITY—Best-selling author Lee Strobel will be among the headline speakers at the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma’s (BGCO) annual State Evangelism Conference (SEC) on Jan. 25-26, at Del City, First Southern, 6400 S. Sooner Rd.

The BGCO event is designed to equip and inspire pastors and church members to share the Gospel with others. Strobel, who is a former award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune and author of more than 20 books, including The Case for Christ, will speak on Monday evening.

Other speakers at the SEC include:

• Sean McDowell, assistant Professor in the Christian Apologetics program at Biola University and son of author and apologetics expert Josh McDowell.

• BGCO Executive Director-Treasurer Anthony L. Jordan;

• Rachael Jackson, founder of Shattered magazine, headlining the women’s session;

• Alvin Reid, professor of evangelism and student ministries courses at Southeastern Seminary; and

• Johnny Hunt, pastor of Woodstock, Ga., First.

“Any one of these speakers could headline any Christian event,” said Mike Napier, BGCO personal evangelism specialist who leads the event. “We are hoping many from across the state will come to this event and be inspired to share the Gospel in powerful ways in Oklahoma.”

Napier said, “In addition to powerful speakers, we have sought-after musical groups, including Master’s Voice and the Annie Moses Band, which will have a huge impact at the event.”

The event is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Interpretation for the deaf and hearing impaired will be available at the event.
