Hard work pays off for Alex, Southern

Everywhere Alex, Southern members looked, they saw the number 500. Pastor Don Chaffin cut out wooden numbers and posted them on every entrance to the church building. A large cross in front of the church had "500" inscribed on it. Prayer cards were posted on members' refrigerators and dining room tables.

I enjoyed the article, Alex, Southern, because I used to attend this church. My Mother, Jewel Lance, taught Sunday School here for many, many years. Rev. Chaffin might remember her. She was a wonderful teacher. I am so proud they are getting to build a new church. I will make an effort to come and see it. With their dedication and hard work I know it will be a wonderful worship center. I have good memories of time spent there in worship and fellowship.
