RITE OF PASSAGE: The 'we' side

I have become aware of a shift in our culture. Somehow, it has changed from "we" to "me." When I speak to parents, I like to tell a joke that goes like this: "When I was growing up, I always had to wear hand-me-downs-and I had three older sisters!"

I believe Walker is right-on in his assessment of what and where the majority of our young people are in today's culture. Many of them are awesome in their achievements, but often seem lacking in the ability to adapt to a less materialistic perspective (not entirely their fault, per Mr. Moore's comments). I believe if Walker's experiences were updated somewhat and applied to the American family, we might find ourselve wiht many more missionary applicants. I always enjoy Walker's articles; he has been a speaker in our church and was absolutely adored by all who heard him. We urge him to return whenever possible.
